Access to care.
Good health is the cornerstone of quality of life, unequivocally and universally. Meeting ones needs in terms of housing, employment, education, and personal development depends largely on the ability of an individual to perform in a system that is largely imperfect and unsupportive of outliers. The shortcomings of the healthcare system are deep and plenty, particularly in the rural south and especially for transgender people. As providers of healthcare focused on transforming the lives and potentials of transgender patients, we at the Prism Foundation are dedicated to taking immediate, drastic initiatives that will produce long-term impacts on the course of LGBTQ+ health in the state of Arkansas.
Our highest priority is increasing access to transition-related services and HIV prevention (PrEP + better fitting condoms) using our existing relationships through Park West Pharmacy as well as our connections with Arkansas LGBTQ+ groups in person and online, along with partnerships with established care providers.
It is with this goal in mind that we created the True Self Initiative. An assistance program designed to completely cover the out of pocket costs of transition-related medications at any participating pharmacy.
If you would like to participate in this program please fill out the form below and return to any participating pharmacy or email to arprismfoundation@gmail.com.
